The Cherry Fruitleups are a little confusing-- what appears to be a twin pair of leupaks is in fact a single leupak with the "decoy" gene.
One half of the pair is an actual leupak, with an intelligent mind, while the other is simply a doppelganger with some limited movement that forms part of the tail. When threatened, the cherry leupak will discard its tail and flee, leaving it to distract a foe.
The doppelganger tail contains a large reservoir of cherry-flavoured venom, which is initially delicious, but explosive.
The decoy thing is really awesome, and the actual art is hilarious! I love how the actual leupak seems to hate being stuck with the vacant-looking decoy.
